As part of the Japanese Film Festival, the lighthouse cinema is showing ‘Children who chase lost voices from deep below’ on Monday the 2nd of July at 19.00, and have a Q&A with the director Makoto Shinkai afterwards. Makoto’s short ‘She & her cat’ will also be shown, but you can spoil it for yourself (and give yourself and idea of the director’s work) below.

Further details of the Japanese Film Festival can be found on their facebook page, but there doesn’t seem to be any other events listed! I think this is more of a one off event, as the director is in town.
