It’s a big week for Film in Dublin, with JDIFF in full flow. There’s also a lot of new things at the theatre, with Sive in the Abbey and Vortex at the Gate. There’s the Collaborations festival at Smock Alley, which is well worth checking out. On the music front, there’s also St. Vincent, Midlake and John Murry visiting Dublin. Lots and lots to do as ever, on the streets of Dublin…
Theatre
The Abbey – Previews of Sive by John B Keane continue, opening night is Wed 19tj. (until 12th April)
The Gate – Previews of The Vortex opens on Tuesday 18th. (until March 22nd)
Project Arts Centre – Care starts on the 19th (not to be missed) and runs until the 1st March. Visitant runs from the 20th to 22nd.
Smock Alley has fantastic series of plays by young and developing theatre makers. Collaborations features over 30 different pieces, check it out!
Viking Theatre has Charlie and Me from the 17th Feb until the 1st March.
The New Theatre has Joanna from the 17th until the 22nd of Feb.
Samuel Beckett Theatre – sleeps
The Gaiety Theatre has New Jersey Nights from the 24th of Feb.
The Civic Theatre has Chancer on Feb 18th – 22nd.

I was thinking it was a slow week in Dublin, but with John Murry, St. Vincent and Midlake all in town, it’s actually quite the opposite. There’s also Liam O Maonlai in Chancery Lane Theatre, which is a lovely space if you want to check it out!
