‘What’s another year’ a wise man once said, and here at the workhorse we share Johnny’s emotion as it’s out with the old and in with the new! 2013 was always an odd number. There’s lots happening this week to celebrate the changing of the digits, possibly the biggest event is the 3 NYE Dublin festival which includes a Procession of light, concerts and a Big Brunch! Lets hope they get the weather for it, while the rain beats down against my window.
There’s also the First Fortnight Festival, which includes a variety of events around the city, including concerts, plays and movies.
Confusion Boats seems the only new addition, as most of the theatres are still closed or showing Pantos! Confusion Boats asks why do some boys not cry and is part of the First Fortnight Festival.
The Abbey – Previews of The Risen People continues until Feb 1st.
Project Arts Centre sleeps.
It’s quiet at Smock Alley.
Viking Theatre has a quiet week.
Confusion Boats is at the New Theatre from Jan 2nd – 11th.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is at the Gaiety Theatre until Jan 19th.
Red Riding Hood is at the Civic Theatre until the 5th Jan.
Theatre Upstairs snoozes.
Coen Brothers Season is in full flow at the Lighthouse with the Hudsucker Proxy on the 31st and Raising Alabama on the 1st.
Silver Linings Playbook is at the IFI as part of the First Fortnight Festival, Jan 4th at 3.30.
New Years Thieves – Sugar Club – 30th Jan – with “The Apartment” followed by live music from Chequerboard, Lisa O’Neill and Come on Live Long
