Ireland has a long history of producing music in a certain genre. Maybe it is the shadow of U2 cast down from on high, but we tend to produce lots of bands with the lead singer banging on a guitar, so when you see a talented electronic band emerging from these shores, you do sit up and take notice. Carriages are exactly that!
If you want to see them live, you can catch them twice in the next week, with details below. Otherwise, sit back and listen to the 4 minutes and 10 seconds of ‘Iron and Fire’ below and enjoy!
Carriages release their first music video ‘Iron & Fire’, taken from their debut self-titled EP. Directed by Hugh Rodgers and cinematography by Eleanor Bowman, the video was filmed in the Wicklow Mountains in October. Alongside the breathtaking scenery, it features the band themselves and actress Zoe Gorsuch, and ties in with the themes of movement and journey that are within Carriages’ music. The video tells the story of a relationship ending and leading onto new, hopeful and positive beginnings. ‘Iron & Fire’ can be downloaded for free or a fee of your choosing from carriages.bandcamp.com
