Something that’s been bugging me for a few weeks now, is a couple of listings in our gig guide. Julia Holter is a Los Angeles based multi instrumentalist that has been making some waves with her album Loud City Song getting a Best New Music tag on dear old Pitchfork.

The odd thing is though, two gigs in three days around Dublin? She’s not exactly a household name. Maybe the promoters know something I don’t. The Unitarian Church gig sounds the tastier of the two, with Chequerboard playing support on the night. Still, Whelans has a fond place in my heart. It’s a tough choice…
