Public Service Broadcast – Button Factory – 31st May 2013

Public Service Broadcasting

To have a gig announced in the Button Factory before their first album is even released, there has to be something special about a band, and that seems to be the case with Public Service Broadcast. Their first single ‘ROYBGIV’ won the rebel play list on BBC 6 Music, as did their next four singles! Their live performance is heavy on visuals, as you can imagine from the images below. The samples remind me of the Avalanches, with the stiff upper lip English 1950’s vocals, but there’s real instruments behind it, nicely layered with a synth sound.

It could be an interesting night in May in the Button Factory. Tickets are €12, and it’s also a Friday, so not one to be missed!
