John Lithgow is one of those performers who is always up to something interesting. The last major role I saw him in, was as a high functioning serial killer in Dexter, as he lived (seemingly) happily with a family, while popping out for the odd murder on the side!
He is currently performing in ‘The Magistrate’ in the National Theatre, and there’s a ‘live via satellite’ performance on the 17th of Jan [update]! It’s being shown in the Odeon point village, as well as a few other cinemas around the city. It’s a good a chance as you’ll get to see him on the stage, without a dash to London (can’t see him turning up in Dublin, but you never know!).
“Academy Award nominee and Tony Award-winner John Lithgow (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Shrek, 3rd Rock from the Sun) takes the title role in Arthur Wing Pinero’s uproarious Victorian farce, directed by Olivier Award-winner Timothy Sheader (Crazy for You and Into the Woods, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, London).”
