So, what’s new at the movies this week…a few good ones actually…
Shadow Dancer seems to be the big release of the week, it’s the tale of troubles up north, and stars Clive Owen. The interesting thing is that it’s directed by James Marsh of Man on Wire and Project Nim fame. I guess he can do it all, as he seems to be making the transition from documentaries to movies look easy!
The Imposter is an astonishing story of one man taking another’s life, and the most remarkable thing is that it’s a documentary. F for Fake is an interesting affair directed and starring Orson Welles, from 1973. It’s been re-released nationwide. ‘Almost any story is some kind of lie’.
The Watch gets slapped silly by all the reviews I could find. Pity. I wasn’t expecting it to be high art, but I did have hopes for a silly fun movie.
