Valet – Nature – Album Review by Killian Laher
Valet’s latest album Nature sure as hell conjures up lazy summer days, from the languid chords and Honey Owen’s blissed out vocal on opener Sunday, followed up by the stately drift of the title track. Unfortunately the album doesn’t really develop from here on, tracks like Sign and Lion are beautifully laid back in a pleasantly 4AD kind of way, but a little forgettable.
Penultimate track Transformation occupies ethereal territory without ruffling any feathers so it’s left to final track, Child to head off in the direction of Spacemen 3. It’s as chilled out as anything else here, and arguably the most satisfying. So a fine album to soundtrack those epic sitting sessions.
