Album of the Week – 22/07/26

It’s another sunny day, and you’re here expecting new music? Yes, it’s a quiet week, but there’s at least one album you should cherish!

There’s a new EP from Baxter Dury called Allbarone Versions, but is this the EP of the Week slot? No, it’s not. There are also new releases from ME. (feat. Mark O’Connell and Eddie Reyes of Taking Back Sunday) called All Good Things and Punch Brothers called The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers.

If you throw your mind back to 2001 (if it goes that far back), you might remember Is This It by the Strokes being just about the best release of the year. Now, 25 years later, they’ve just released Reality Awaits. While it might not cause the excitement of their release, it’s another good one. You can check it out below.

Album of the Week –  The Strokes – Reality Awaits

“Reality Awaits, the seventh studio album from The Strokes, is set for release on July 24 via Cult Records/RCA Records. Last month, the band debuted their newest single, “Falling out of Love,” along with a premiere performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The track follows April’s “Going Shopping,” the band’s first preview of the upcoming album.

Recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin and finished around the globe, Reality Awaits marks the band’s first new music since 220’s much-lauded The New Abnormal and extensive global touring in its wake.

The Strokes are a band from New York City. Since their 2001 debut, their beloved discography has defined the sound of a generation.”
