Ben Vendetta – Take It From The Man – Book Review

Author Ben Vendetta has compiled his interviews with bands into a coffee-table book.  He interviewed some of the notable bands in the noise/shoegaze scene, such as Spacemen 3 and Swervedriver.  The interviews took place in the mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s and generally follow a Q&A format.  However, he steers clear of formulaic interviews and manages to come up with unusual angles for his band interviews.

Also interviewed is Paul Page of Whipping Boy, along with Catherine Wheel, The Dandy Warhols, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and both Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell (separately) in their Mojave 3 incarnation.

There is plenty of fresh insight here that you won’t necessarily come across elsewhere.  The interviews are accompanied by some great photos as well.

A lovely addition to your punk rock coffee table (if that’s not an oxymoron!)
