Album of the Week – 10/07/26

This week, we’re back on track with a variety of interesting releases.

The legend that is Jack White returns with Frozen Charlotte. There are also some interesting new sounds from the likes of hackedepicciotto (LICHTUNG), Pain Gain (Pain Gain) and Panda Bear and Sonic Boom (A ? of WHEN). Also worth checking out is Xiu Xiu (Eraserhead Xiu Xiu).

For our album of the week, we’ve gone for Will Sheff with his new release Extra Mile. The Okkervil River frontman returns with his second album under his own name, following Nothing Special in 2022.

“On July 10th, I will be releasing ‘Extra Mile’, the official follow-up to my debut album ‘Nothing Special’.

‘Extra Mile’ picks up on the high plains where ‘Nothing Special’ wrapped up and then launches into space. It’s one of the most musically adventurous things I’ve done and it feels to me like a warm, glowing testament to the friendship of the players and the big questions we gathered together to bat around, there in a little shack at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, with the studio doors open and the summer wind blowing in.”
