Album of the Week – 03/03/23

This week we have new albums from Hello Mary (which we reviewed here), along with Fake Names (Expendables), slowthai (UGLY) and Steve Mason (of the sadly departed Beta Band – Brothers & Sisters). They’re all worth checking out and you can do just that below! You could even tell us what you think on our amazingly interactive comments section below?

One you may not have heard of is Eidetic by Benoît Pioulard and it’s well worth a listen. Benoit is the recording name for American singer-songwriter, poet, and photographer Thomas Meluch.

We decided to go for something a little closer to home, with the return of the wonderfully named Boa Morte. We just love bands named after ex-Fulham footballers. It’s their first album in three and a half years and you can hear it below…

Album of the Week –

“All of their albums are described as ‘slow-burners’, this one certainly is. On the one hand, it almost feels like one continuous piece, but every time you listen to the album you hear something new. For want of a better term, this is a headphones album, depending on your perspective either a folky album with ambient bits or a full-on excursion into the folkier side of ambient. What it boils down to is their best album to date”.
