Album of the Week – 10/02/23

Lisa O’Neill returns this week with her first album since Heard a Long Gone Song all the way back in 2018. It’s creepy and weird and wonderful, so you should definitely check it out below. There is also a collection of remixed songs by Andy Bell which might grab your attention.

There are new sounds from bands such as The Golden Dregs, Quasi and Maps which are all worth a listen.

Our favourite release of the week is definitely the return of Yo La Tengo with an album that could become a classic – This Stupid World.

“Not that there was anything wrong with any of their albums from the last ten years or so, but this is their best album in years. They sound energised and focused, great to hear them still pushing their sound more than 30 years after they formed the band”.
