Bill Callahan & Bonnie Prince Billy – Cover Versions Album?
Could this be the start of a folk/ low-fi supergroup? Who knows. So far, Bill Callahan and Bonnie Prince Billy have covered five songs by artists such as Hank Williams Jr, Billie Eilish, Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Dave Rich. Each cover has also included another individual, such as Matt Sweeney , Sean O’Hagan, AZITA and Alasdair Roberts.
There is scant information on where this is all going, but with five songs so far, there’s hopefully an album on the way. You can listen to all the covers below but we’d recommend “I’ve Made Up My Mind” if you had to pick just one…
Bill Callahan, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and Matt Sweeney cover Hank Williams, Jr.’s 1979 song “O.D.’d in Denver.”
