While the Dublin Dance Festival was just one of the many casualties of our current crisis, they have managed to reinvent themselves online for ten days of excitement!

Day 1: Featuring Shantala
Fri 29 May | Available from 11am
A trio of films offering the chance to get to know Indian choreographer and performer Shantala Shivalingappa and experience her remarkable talent.

Day 2: Augmented Reality Dance Experience
Sat 30 May | Available from 11am
An exciting Augmented Reality app that invites you to take a dance journey with artists from an award-winning contemporary dance company.

Day 3: New Movements – Walking
Sun 31 May | Available from 11am
Part 1: Irish composer Michael Gallen shares three original compositions to accompany your daily walk – whether as a meditation, exercise, or an exploration of your environment.
Part 2: A look at a unique project from iconic Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker that explores the idea of walking as a form of dancing.

Day 4: Oona Doherty, DDF Artist in Residence
Mon 1 June | Available from 11am
Find about more about Doherty’s work, her latest piece Lady Magma, and her future projects with this curated essay by arts writer and lecturer Aoife McGrath.

Day 5: Holistic Strata on Screen
Tues 2 June | Available from 11am
A short film by choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Hiroaki Umeda, where all elements – light, body, space, movement – are turned into pixels.

Day 6: Creating in Confinement
Wed 3 June | Available from 11am
Part 1: Writer and dance critic, Michael Seaver, talks to DDF artists past and present to explore how they are creating and experiencing dance in restricted circumstances.
Part 2: Hear from the creative team behind Floating on a Dead Sea by Catherine Young Dance, who will share their experiences in Palestine and how this shaped the work.

Day 7: Maguy Marin – Time to Act
Thurs 4 June | Available from 7pm | **Registration Required**
An evocative film about one of the greatest choreographers of our time, Maguy Marin, examining the genesis of the artist’s work over the last four decades.

Day 8: Who gets to dance?
Fri 5 June | Available from 11am
Dancers from Dançando com a Diferença share why they like to dance as an introduction to two short films featuring dancers with disabilities.

Day 9: Alt Dance Leaving Cert
Sat 6 June | 8pm Zoom Event | **Registration Required**
This dance quiz party with Cormac Mohally is a very special, non-state-sanctioned Alternative Leaving Cert for Dancers (non-LC students and non-dancers welcome!)

Day 10: Tiny Dancer – A DJ set for kids
Sun 7 June | 3pm Zoom Event | **Registration Required**
A Festival favourite at DDF2019, we welcome back Tiny Dancer, with tunes from every era that’ll have kiddies and grown-ups taking over the dance floor – and the living room!
