Dublin Event Guide (8-2-16 – 14-2-16)

zoolanderheader

Love is in the air, and it’s actually falling on a weekend this year, so there is all sorts of nonsense on around the place! There are plenty of loved up movies and a few loved up gigs also!

Suede play the Olympia behind a screen (honest!) and there’s also Ennio Morricone, Suicidal Tendencies, Cian Nugent and Pleasure Beach. It’s a slow week at the theatres of Dublin for whatever reason. Pete Best Of The Beatles at the New Theatre and The Quiet Land at Bewleys are the two main ones of interest! There are still some good ones running though with Big Maggie and Trainspotting coming recommended.

This week also sees the release of Zoolander 2. We hope and pray it’s good!

If you’re close to the RHA the Mick O’Dea exhibition is pretty damn cool! The Nick Miller in IMMA also comes highly recommended.

Gigs

Suede-approved-2014

Suede are in town and are playing an odd sounding gig –

“to coincide with their new album and feature film Night Thoughts being released on 25th January. A unique experience: the first half will see Suede perform their Night Thoughts album in full with the film as backdrop before moving on to a traditional set.”

It could be great, it could be… less so. Other gigs we’d recommend would include Ennio Morricone, Suicidal Tendencies, Cian Nugent and Pleasure Beach. Check out the full list below…
