Looking for a new festival? Bored by the Picnic? Too broke for Forbidden Fruit? This festival is lacking in the big names, but still sounds a lot of fun with Damian Dempsey, KILA and Eddi Reader among others. There’s an emphasis on proper Irish musicians, and the best in trad and folk. It all takes place in Leixlip at the Salmon Leap Inn.

Salmon Leap Festival is a new folk and traditional music celebration kicking off on Friday 29 May and running until Sunday 31 May in Leixlip, Co Kildare. This year’s line-up features Damien Dempsey, KÍLA, Sharon Shannon, Altan, Mundy, Eddi Reader, Luka Bloom, Máirtín O’Connor Trio, Alan Kelly Gang, The Whileaways, Lisa O’Neill, Four Winds, Begley & Cooney, Ye Vagabonds, New Road, I Draw Slow, Morrissey & Marshall, Lynched, The Jeremiahs, Stephen James and Harry Bradley, Jesse Smith & John Blake.
Early bird tickets for the event priced €30 per day or €65 for the weekend including booking fee are on sale at 9.00am, Friday 20 March at http://www.salmonleapfestival.com for a limited time. Full price day tickets will be €35 and weekend €75 including booking fee. Salmon Leap Festival is a new folk and traditional music weekender in the heritage town of Leixlip on the banks of the River Liffey. Dublin born singer songwriter Damien Dempsey takes to the stage located in the Salmon Leap Inn on Friday while Saturday sees Altan and Irish music legends KÍLA perform. Bringing the weekend to a close in style on Sunday will be Eddi Reader and Sharon Shannon. The Salmon Leap Inn is one of Ireland’s oldest music pubs and was a long-time music landmark and stop over on the road west. A family pub, the inn has roots in Annascaul Co. Kerry, home of the world famous explorer Tom Crean. The music festival takes us back to our roots, exploring wonderful heritage and music.
Headlined by legends Damien Dempsey, Eddi Reader, Sharon Shannon, Kíla and Altan with a stunning line up across three days, the family friendly event will also feature a market and artisan food. Salmon Leap Festival 29 May – 31 May 2015
