like a tinsmith’s scoop

sunk past its gleam

in the meal-bin.”

Mossbawn 1. Sunlight – Seamus Heaney

Young Hearts Run Free is a Dublin-based collective who have been putting on unique music and literary events in aid of the Simon Community since 2008. For their first big event of 2015, in honour of St. Valentine’s Day, they’re celebrating a different kind of love – the one found in a sense of community. Taking place on Saturday February 14th Freemasons Hall, they’ll be presenting an evening of readings by Kevin Barry, Professor Declan Kiberd, and Paula Meehan, and music by I Am The Cosmos, Brigid Power-Ryce, Scotland’s Withered Hand, and Young Hearts DJs. Siobhán Kane, founder of Young Hearts Run Free, says,“We have used some special spaces over the last 7 years, and the Freemasons’ Hall is no exception – we are so happy to be hosting one of our events there. I booked the space around 6 months ago, and it seems particularly poignant now, after what happened to Jonathan Corrie, on that very street.
