NYF Dublin – Spoken Word Festival

IMG_2162

One of the more unusual events in the New Year’s Festival is the Spoken Word Festival which will include a variety of events of a literary nature. The Christmas period isn’t exactly known as a time for literature, so this is a new take on things and hopefully one that will take off.

There are a variety of events including Soundings: Holy Trinity with Dylan Haskins and Lisa Hannigan, Leviathan with David McWilliams, Lingo: Poets v’s Rapper and NYF Dublin Literary Saloon. Have to say, I’m looking forward to it. I always like the idea of Poetry Slams… Poets vs Rappers should be fascinating.

Visit www.NYFDublin.com for details or see below.

NYF Dublin, in collaboration with their partners Dublin Genius, Lingo and Poetry Ireland are delighted to announce the programme for the Spoken Word Festival  which will take place over 2 days in a variety of city centre locations on 30 and 31 December 2014 as part of Love Dublin. Visit www.nyfdublin.com for full programme and ticket details.

The Spoken Word Festival will show case the very best from emerging talents in poetry and the spoken word, to some of the country’s best loved poets with a healthy helping of lively discussion and debate thrown in for good measure including Soundings: Holy Trinity with Dylan Haskins and Lisa Hannigan at City Assembly House, Leviathan with David McWilliams at the Button Factory, Lingo: Poets v’s Rapper and NYF Dublin Poetry Slam.

NYF Dublin will take over cafes, bars, restaurants and performance venues to bring this jam-packed programme of Spoken Word Events to local and visiting audiences. Be prepared to enjoy a spontaneous poetry reading while enjoying your brunch at one of the city’s best loved cafes, or throw yourself into the mix of lively debate during our political cabaret, Leviathan. Laugh till it hurts as the very best of Irish spoken word talent slug it out at our ‘best of’ poetry slam.

They say the Irish have the gift of the gab; NYF Festival of the Spoken Word proves it!

Ireland biggest New Year’s event, NYF Dublin is set to turn the city into a bustling hive of activity with something for all ages and tastes from the NYF Dublin, Three Countdown Concert, Procession of Light, Luminosity, NYF Food Village, NYF Music Trail, Love Dublin to Resolution Day. Don’t miss out on your chance to join in with the celebrations!
