Things to do in Dublin this week (18-11-13 to 24-11-13)

Congratulations to all those involved in the Dublin Book Festival. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it, but the few events I attended were top notch. So, to look ahead to next week, what’s on the cards. Well, there’s a few new plays such as Marvel and Tomorrow’s Parties at the Project, and  Revenant at the New Theatre. The Gig front is pretty exciting with the Pixies and They Might be Giants in town.. explore below.

We say a fond farewell to the Three Penny Opera which finished last Saturday, but there’s a few new shows on, including Marvel and Tomorrow’s Parties at the Project and Revenant at the New Theatre.

The Abbey sleeps – Previews of The Risen People begins Nov 28th.

Silent runs at the Peacock Theatre in the Abbey until Dec 7th. Our review from previous run is here.

The Gate sleeps – Previews of Pride and Prejudice begin Nov 28th.

Marvel, Tomorrow’s Parties and Life Behind the Venue are at the Project Arts Centre.

Dublin Flamenco Festival, Guaranteed! and Deeper are at Smock Alley.

The Tailor and Ansty are at the Viking Theatre in Clontarf, until Dec 7th.

Revenat is at the New Theatre until Nov 30th.

The Nutcracker is at the Gaiety Theatre

Beyond the Brooklyn Sky is at the Civic Theatre

The World will end in Fire is at Theatre Upstars until Nov 30th

Movies

The Big Sleep

The Big Sleep is the Film Fatale in the Sugar Club this month, on the 23rd.

An Arnaud Desplechin Season and an Abdellatif Kechiche Season are at the IFI until Nov 22nd.

Doctor Who day is on all over the place, including the Lighthouse on the 23rd.

Gigs

Wow, it’s another top notch week, with the Pixies, They Might be Giants, Califone, Julia Holter, Múm and many more. Wow.
