No horror movies this week? Seriously, what’s the story Hollywood, get your act together. A few good looking ones all the same though. I guess there’s enough scary delights with the Horrorthon and the Bram Stoker on the Square Film Fest.

Han Solo is back (kinda) or at least Harrison is back doing Sci-Fi in Ender’s Game, a movie about the military seeking out a leader who can fight off the evil alien hordes. Sounds great to me and the reviews are pretty decent also (a variety of three and four star reviews). I’ve such a weakness for dodgy sci-fi movies, especially when Harrison is involved.

The next one is for all the Bradford City fans in the audience (there might be one!) as two young boys work as scrap dealers in lovely Bradford. The reviews for the Selfish GIant are top notch (an 86% on Metacritic). Will it be heart warming? Movies starring teenagers are always heart warming.

There’s something a bit special about a good music documentary in the cinema, maybe it’s the great sound system or your complete immersion in the world, but it’s always a treat. Muscle Shoals tells the story of a recording studio and a producer (Richard Hall) which turned out some of the best music of the last 50 years! The reviews are pretty good also (75% on Metacritic)

Would it happen to be half term next week? Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 is one for the little people and looks pretty good fun. The reviews are positive also (59% on Metacritic), so I’m sure you won’t hate it if you do end up seeing it!

There are no words. Jackass presents: Bad Grandpa is the story of Johnny Knoxville in an old suit and some kid having hilarity. Mixed reviews, I mean very mixed, some love it and some hate it.

Closed Circuit tells the story of two lawyers whose lives are put at risk after joining the defence team in a case against terrorists. Metacritic gives it a 51% so it sounds an average caper movie, if you’re so inclined.
