Róisín O’s new single ‘Hold On’ is a faint and lilting piano song, with her haunting vocals layered over. The single builds throughout, with strings adding to the sound, before they are stripped away again for the bare final sequence. Róisín O’s vocal range really sets her apart from other singers, and the quality and depth to her voice is obvious.
Róisín plays her first Irish headline show of the year in Whelan’s on Friday, October 18th
“Sometimes our minds take us to dark places and it gets hard to escape. A very close friend of
mine was going through a tough time, as happens us all, and I found myself wanting, but unable,
to help make things better for him. Sometimes all you can do for someone is to be there for them
and let them know that things will get better one day. This song is for him.” – Róisín O
The video is directed by Simon Eustace and stars Aaron Hefferman, who will soon star in Love Hate, and we saw on stage here and here.
