This is an unusual gig from those nice people at Improvised Music. Lionel Loueke is a jazz guitarist on Blue Note, and here’s what the press release has to say…
West African jazz guitarist Lionel Loueke, a highlight of Herbie Hancock’s last Irish shows, comes to Dublin on 21st April. In full flight, his flowing lines with tasteful chromatic punctuation are heard over deep, magnetic African grooves, moving effortlessly between meters, as he accompanies himself with a hybrid of scat and African click singing. Signed to the Blue Note label, this is one not to miss.
Full details are on Facebook here, and on the Improvised Music website.
