God, is it Christmas already? Seriously? I guess I’ll have to accept it and move on. Try to resist the ba humbug vibe, although it is strong within me! So, what’s around
Art – Eithne Jordan’s new exhibition ‘Street’ continues at the RHA, with John Beattie opens in the same venue on the same night! Alice Maher‘s show at IMMA (Earlsfort Terrace) is really impressive, and the Sidney Nolan exhibition is at the other IMMA; Kilmainham. Siobhan Hapaska & Stephen McKenna are at the Kerlin from Thursday. Pat Harris and Linda Ruttelynckis are at the Taylor Gallery. Hibernation (Group show) is at the Oliver Sears. Tribal Textiles from Iran start in the Douglas Hyde this Friday.
Theatre – Dorian Gray has finished at the Abbey but I’m quite looking forward to The Dead that starts on the 5th of Dec, and the Peacock has Quietly. Tender Napalm starts at the Project on the 27th by the people responsible for this so I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with! Cousin Rachel returns to the Gate this Wednesday and will be around for the Christmas!
Movies – A quiet one for special events, so you can catch up on The Master, Amour and the other good things on at the moment.
Gigs – It’s an average gig week i think but a few good ones in there. I’d go for Ben Folds Five, Shearwater (with Great Lake Swimmers as support) and Purity Ring!
