Am I the only one that thinks the plot of Ruby Sparks sounds like Weird Science? I’m sure it’s more thoughtful and considered than Weird Science, but I’m also pretty sure it’s not as good. It’s the clear winner of movie of the week, as there’s nothing else good out there, and all the critics seem to like/ love it. It’s six years since ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, you have to wonder what the directors have been up to…

Of the other releases, sadly ‘On the Road‘ takes a bit of critical bashing, and there’s other average driving movies in ‘hit and run’ and ‘the pusher’. Hotel Transylvania is an animated vampire movie that looks kinda fun, but not one for the critics, more for small children I guess!
