Minecraft revisited

A while back we did a piece on the music of C418, the artist behind the music of the phenominally successful cult computer game Minecraft. Well it turns out that a documentary is being made about the game’s creator, Markus Persson, and the folks creating the film are raising funds for it on Kickstarter.

The film was originally planned as a 20 minute short but is now going to be a feature length film. The good news is the soundtrack for the film is being made by C418.

Check out the details here.

    • Kickstarter is a platform for raising money for pretty much anything, e.g. a new product, a movie, recording an album etc. It’s pretty cool. It’s not an investment but backers get “gifts” depending on how much they fund. So $50 might get you a limited edition dvd of the movie you’re backing, signed by the director and maybe a t-shirt, whereas $3000 might get you 5 tickets to the premier and dinner with the director!

  1. that sounds an interesting idea alright. its kind of like charity then really, except you get some fun stuff in return. think it would take more than a meal to get me to part with three grand though!
