Comics of the year – Duncan the wonder dog

I was tempted to write a top ten comics of the year, but really there was no way i could, as I don’t read enough of them. After a small bit of research, I’ve found a couple of sites that have already done it for me here and here, and they both came to the same conclusion, with Adam Hines – Duncan the wonder dog.

He’s an unknown to this point, who has spent the last 7 years working on this piece, and aims to make it the first of 9 volumes, so he’s aiming pretty high! It is based around a world where animals can speak the same language as humans, which changes the world around us, from people’s pets, to wild animals and slaughter houses. Sounds an interesting read, and something I’ll certainly check out.

Other names on the lists include a few I know and love in Charles Burns ‘X’ed out’ and Chris Ware’s ‘Acme Novelty Library #20’ and lots I’ve never heard of, so again something that might be worth checking out!
