I was going to entitle this piece as ‘What’s Irish for Mogwai’ but that would be a little cruel, and to be honest, its not like Mogwai created the wonderful genre of ‘quiet, loud, quiet’ music that exists out there either. Halves are a 5 piece post rock band from Dublin, who according to their wiki page met ‘while working on Xtra-vision in Baggot street’. What more of a claim to fame do you need!

I’ve seen them twice in recent weeks, backing up PVT and Dungen, and was impressed on both occasions. Well worth checking out if you get the chance. Enjoy…
