David Murphy is taking a relatively old-fashioned instrument, the steel guitar, and bringing it in a new direction.  He is releasing The March of The King of Laois (Traditional) today.

It’s an otherworldly, steel guitar piece.  Forget your usual, country associations with the steel guitar, this is something else entirely.  It’s a fuller sound than previously, with shades of percussion, strings and piano fleshing out the piece.  You can listen to a preview of it here:
