TV Picks of the Week – 20/01/21

*Steaming Special*

So, just for a change, we thought we’d recommend some things on the free streaming services rather than those expensive paid ones! The RTE Player offers some of the most well known Irish productions such as RAW and Love/ Hate, but it has a variety of American series also. See what we found below…

Fargo Season 4 – TG4 Streaming App

I bet you didn’t even know TG4 had an app? I didn’t, but after checking it out, it’s the only place you can get Season 4 of Fargo. Yep, that’s right, it’s nowhere near Netflix but it’s available for free on this app! How cool is that!  You’ll have to move fast though as episode 1 is only available for another 30 (ish) days.

It has a great cast with Chris Rock, Jessie Buckley, Jason Schwartzman and Ben Whishaw and the reviews are fairly positive, with 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Killing Eve – Season 1 – 3  – RTE Player

Have you seen this one? It’s worth watching for Fiona Shaw alone, although she’s always amazing. The first season was written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, so you know you’re in good hands. The reviews of the first season were glowing but season two and three are not quite as positive, but it’s definitely worth exploring. And… it’s free!

The Terror – Season 1 – RTE Player

This currently has an 87% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s a horror anthology series with Ian Hart and Ciarán Hinds. Well worth a watch!

“Supernatural, semihistorical, horror anthology series, where each season is inspired by a different infamous or mysterious real-life historical tragedy.”
