While possibly lacking a major release, this week does have some interesting new sounds such as Ryley Walker and Charles Rumback (Little Common Twist), Rachael Dadd (Flux) and Xylouris White (The Sisypheansmath). The one we went for is from Mount Eerie, which quickly follows studio albums A Crow Looked at Me (2017) and Now Only (2018).
Album of the Week – Lost Wisdom pt. 2 by Mount Eerie with Julie Doiron
“What would be the use of becoming a symbol of walking desolation? / Awash in multiple griefs, elaborating on more anguish,” – Love Without Possession
The original Lost Wisdom by Mount Eerie was released in 2008. Still clearly dealing with the death of his wife Geneviève Castrée, with this album Phil Elverum continues with a similar sound other than the addition of Julie Doiron to the mix. Doiron is the leader singer/ bassist for Canadian indie rock band Eric’s Trip. It’s another haunting and traumatic experience.
