Album of the Week – 19/07/19 – The Quiet Temple – The Quiet Temple

Some weeks you’re spoiled for choice and you’d like to pick more than one! This week is the opposite extreme and it’s a bit of a struggle to come up with something you’d put your name to. Still, it means you have to dig a bit deeper to find a gem, and that’s never a bad thing.

Goon is a new name to me and their new album is definitely worth a listen, in the standard issue Indie tradition. There’s also a new one from Irish outfit Alarmist called Sequesterer. Another interesting one is from Saul William, who always has something to say, but is possibly better live than recorded? Maybe that’s just me.

Lachlan Denton & Studio Magic’s new album ‘A Brother’ is rather lovely. The Melbourne based singer songwriter is well worth checking out.

“The Quiet Temple have announced details of the release of their self-titled debut album on Friday July 19th2019 on Point Of Departure .An amorphous musical collective put together by Rich Machin and Duke Garwood, with a rolling cast of players assembled from the likes of Soulsavers, Spiritualized, Stereolab and Julian Cope, the track listing of the 6-track album is as follows.”
