New Music – For Valentine’s Day: David Turpin – Concubine feat. Elephant
A special Valentine’s day treat from David Turpin with the release of Concubine (featuring Elephant).
“It’s a Valentine’s gift to all lovers, desolated and otherwise.” – David Turpin
“Concubine is the next single to be taken from The Late David Turpin’s forthcoming album ROMANCES, a song cycle made in collaboration with eleven lead vocalists and over sixty musicians, producers and artists. Sung by Elephant (whose album 88 was one of the most acclaimed Irish releases of 2018), and co-produced with Stephen Shannon (Mount Alaska, Strands), Concubine is a haunted cavern of a love song, inspired by the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche, and by the final lines of Frank Herbert’s classic science-fiction novel Dune (1965), in which a messiah’s lover explains: We who carry the name of concubine – history will call us wives.
Concubine is available on all streaming platforms, or to download for free via Soundcloud.”
