RM Hubbert – Recovery Ep 2 – Review by Killian Laher
Scottish guitarist RM Hubbert has been channeling his recovery from depression into his music. A couple of months ago he released an EP of cover versions which he now follows up with original material. First track D As In Dog is in Hubby’s signature flamenco style and is a perfect ‘sitting around doing nothing’ type piece of music. He really is a fine guitar player and Simple Things and By Values exemplify that, intricate guitar melodies without anything too flashy or complex. Finally, CC noodles along pleasantly for four and a half minutes or so with occasional percussion, bringing this fine stop-gap EP to a close.
