Movies This Week – 16-08-17

We need to talk about Terrence. Yes, the one time great Terrence Mallick continues his trip to the bizarre, and his new release has not avoided the wrath of the critics! Even the programme notes from the IFI website sound a littlle odd… “the film assumes an impressionistic quality, prioritising inner monologue over conversation and mood over narrative structure”. It’s going to be awful, isn’t it? Song to Song is probably the big release of the week, along with the Inconvenient Sequel.

Dark Tower is more proof that good actors don’t make a good movie! Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey are in this turkey waiting to happen. It’s not a classic week in the cinema, but Quest is probably the best of them!
