All hail Forbidden Fruit 2017 (3 Jun – 5 Jun) as the big event in town this week. There’s Orbital, Aphex Twin and Bon Iver over the three day festival, and a thousand more names you’d care to mention. There’s also Vantastival 2017 (3 Jun – 4 Jun) a bit further afield with the Riptide Movement, Kila and more.
There’s You Bloom 2017 (1 Jun – 5 Jun) for a music industry slant on things. Bloom 2017 is for the green fingered amongst us (1 Jun – 5 Jun). Another fun looking festival is the Dublin Port River Fest 2017 (3 Jun – 5 Jun).
There’s new theatre with Stones in his Pockets in Smock Alley, I Am A Bird Now in Theatre Upstairs and Imagining Liam in the Teachers Club.
Some good gigs include the Swans in the Button Factory, Ron Sexsmith in the Academy and Kraftwerk in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
The RHA Annual Exhibition opens this week, which is always interesting. The IMMA Collection Freud Project is a must see!
