Body&Soul have just announced the bulk of their line up, and as ever the headliners are better than your average festival. Lambchop and Metronomy should both be impressive, and Sleaford Mods have a great reputation as a live act. June doesn’t sound that far away…

Body&Soul, Ireland’s most beautiful midsummer festival, has announced the first elements of its 2017 programme spanning music, arts and culture, wellbeing and epicurean treats. The stunning grounds of Ballinlough Castle will, for the eighth year, host a weekend of decadent indulgence, cultural diversions and magical moments.
This year will see a newly commissioned Body&Soul main stage, designed to complement the soaring backdrop of trees, the sloping natural amphitheatre and Ireland’s most receptive festival audience. British electro-pop outfit Metronomy, whose 2016 release Summer 08 hits the highs of 2011’s classic English Riviera will join American alt-country collective Lambchop, whose move into gorgeous and nuanced electronic territory with album FLOTUS is cause for some summer celebration. French dance pioneer Vitalic will bring his hugely atmospheric blend of cosmic disco-house to Ballinlough, having released his first album in over a decade in 2017. Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods will champion their no-holds barred critique of the establishment in a riotous barrage of a set, with Malian sensation Songhoy Blues returning with their unique mix of R&B, Blues and traditional Malian tunes.
Festival Director Avril Stanley said “We’re excited to announce the first batch of acts set to join our ever-expanding music and arts programme. We’re taking Body&Soul back to its original ethos – being an incubator of great ideas and being ahead of the curve, presenting people, acts and ideas that we love and want to showcase. This is just the first announcement of many, so stay tuned!”
