This week is sponsored by the colour green. Yes, the madness that is St. Patty’s day is just about to engulf the city, so hold on tight! There’s actually a wide range of events even without the parade itself, so check them all out here. The Festival runs from the 17th to the 20th. A couple of events we’d recommend in it include Rounds in Patrick’s Cathedral on Sat 19th. Future Composers on the 20th in the Chocolate Factory. Also, Donovan in the NCH on the 19th. The Ultimate Sunday was great fun last year, so here’s hoping this year lives up to it!
Culture takes a bit of a bashing, with little in the way of new theatre or music, but there is a good few new movie releases. Sing Street is the one you will hear all the talk about! There’s also a chance to see the Hateful Eight in the 70mm format at the IFC. Otherwise, there’s the opening of the Plough and the Stars in the Abbey and Grimes is the main excitement in the world of live music!
The Nick Miller in IMMA also comes highly recommended.
