Hot Chip – Metropolis – 7-11-15 – Review
Looking slightly like they just stayed on from the web summit after the release of their new killer app, Hot Chip took to the stage a quarter to eleven, to a crowd who were more than ready. The headline act at a festival always receive a huge reaction and Hot Chip were no different. The crowd were well warmed up and ready to dance late on Saturday night! They might look slightly geeky but the know to work a crowd.
Their new album ‘Why Make Sense?’ was only released in February of this year, and while they did play a few from it such as Huarache Lights it was a festival set and featured all their hits. They have an impressive back catalogue, and floor fillers such as Need You Now, Over and Over, And I Was a Boy from School and Hold On did their trick. They finished with Bruce Springsteen/ LCD Soundsystem cover Dancing In The Dark/ All Our Friends, a track that has been taking over the world for the last month or so. They left with a promise to continue to party in the Button Factory with a DJ set, but they take with them… our hearts!
