Jape – Album Release and Tower Records Instore

Jape is impossible to avoid at the moment, so we thought we’d continue the hype! The man is on every radio station and newspaper, but he’s a lovely man, so all good really. The new album is released today and he will be appearing in Tower Records tomorrow at 2pm. There’s also the wonderful new video for Seance of Light, which you can see below.

Jape – This Chemical Sea – Released today – 23rd January

Jape – Tower Records Instore Appearance – 24th January @ 2pm

Academy Headline Show – February 19th

The track is the second to be taken from the forthcoming album, ‘This Chemical Sea’ which is set for release on January 23rd 2015 – THIS FRIDAY.

The album opener, ‘Séance of Light’ is a delectable slice of pop majesty. The track has a true sense of immediacy, kicking straight into gear with a funky bass groove, fetching synthesizers, and an alluring beat. The prolific Richie Egan hums and croons captivating melodies as the track frolics to a dizzying crescendo, giving it an intensity that is sure to make it a live favourite in the not so distant future.

After an extensive Australian and European Tour, Egan relocated to Malmo,

Sweden in 2012, where ‘Séance of Light’ was written and recorded. It is the Jape record that Egan has not had full creative control over, asking for feedback and input from fellow member Glen Keating, something he feels ”was inspiring and helped me push myself so much harder.”

Having won the Choice Music Prize for the Best Irish Album twice (the only act to do so in the history of the award), the strength of Jape’s first two singles to be taken from ‘This Chemical Sea’ certainly leaves the group as likely contenders to pick up the prize for a staggering third time… Watch this space.

JAPE announces Academy headline show for 19th February 2015. Tickets on sale now from €15 includes booking fee
