The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland are delighted to announce the third annual Digital Biscuit, Ireland’s film and technology forum, set to take over Dublin’s Science Gallery, 28 – 30 January.

Digital Biscuit is an international film and technology conference that aims to foster innovation and collaboration in film and television production.

The three-day event in Dublin acts as a platform for filmmakers, technologists and creatives to meet, create, share knowledge and be inspired.

This year’s line up of speakers includes Michel Gondry, director, screenwriter and producer of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Bruno Delbonnel, cinematographer for Amelie, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Tim Burton’s forthcoming Big Eyes. International industry champions include Franklin Leonard, Founder of influential Hollywood publication, The Blacklist; Charles Spence, experimental psychology scientist at Oxford University plus home-grown talents, Maureen Hughes, casting agent (Love / Hate, Noble) and Mike Cockayne, Director, Writer & Producer of The Hardy Bucks.

One of the highlights for 2015 is a 20min virtual reality, multi point-of-view film installation for Oculus Rift, The Dog House, accessible at points over the three-day event. Producer, Mads Damsbo and director Johan Knattrup will give talks about the project.

The Science Gallery exhibition spaces will play host to exhibits and demos of the latest must-have technology for the film and moving image industry.

Speaking about Digital Biscuit SDGI director, Birch Hamilton said, “I believe that great creation comes from collaboration and this is at the heart of Digital Biscuit. By bringing 70 industry partners and 60 international speakers together under one roof, it is our hope to ignite, empower and grow Ireland’s creative and technological industries. Over three days we will explore the future of the moving image through workshops, new technology demos, screenings and talks from world-renowned experts at the forefront of new filmmaking techniques. We hope you’ll join us.”
Damini Kumar, European Ambassador for Creativity and member of Digital Biscuit’s Brain Trust also commented: “Collaboration is in the heart of the creative process as it challenges us to look at the world from a different perspective. It helps us overcome one of the biggest barriers to creativity, which is when our experience limits us by telling us we know it all. Engaging with unfamiliar areas of knowledge through a process of collaboration is a great way of finding inspiration and boosting your creativity.”
