Below is a tiny, tiny interview with the main man from the The Telescopes, Stephen Lawrie. They play the Workman’s Club on 13th November. I wouldn’t expect too much in terms of banter, but maybe he’s more verbose on stage than off!
What was it like to be part of Creation records during its heyday? It must have been an exciting time for the band.
and an exciting time for creation. they put out a lot of great records.
Why was there such a long break between the second and third albums? Did you continue to make music during this interval?
I lost inspiration for the whole thing and needed a break to free me up again.
I did a few collaborations with füxa, from detroit and a song for a Shane meadows film.
Do you prefer recording music or playing live?
I love both for different reasons.
What can the audience expect from the show in the Workman’s club in a few weeks time?
