7pm Tuesday November 18th At Movies@Dundrum, Dundrum Town Centre.

Jameson Dublin International Film Festival and Sony Pictures are excited to present a special screening of the highly anticipated movie sensation Whiplash on Tuesday November 18th at Movies@Dundrum at 7pm.

Hailed as one of the most exhilarating movies at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, claiming both the Audience and Grand Jury Awards, Whiplash tells the story of Andrew Neyman (Miles Teller) an ambitious young jazz drummer, single-minded in his pursuit to rise to the top of his elite east coast music conservatory. Plagued by the failed writing career of his father, Andrew hungers day and night to become one of the greats. Terence Fletcher (J.K Simmons), an instructor equally known for his teaching talents as for his terrifying methods, leads the top jazz ensemble in the school. Fletcher discovers Andrew and transfers the aspiring drummer into his band, forever changing the young man’s life.  Andrew’s passion to achieve perfection quickly spirals into obsession, as his ruthless teacher continues to push him to the brink of both his ability—and his sanity.

Tickets for the special screening will be available exclusively through the JDIFF website. To ensure a ticket to this event log on to www.jdiff.com and sign up to the mailing list, tickets are avaiable on a first come first served basis.
