Some softly spoken indie pop/ folk music all the way from Utrecht! I can’t say I know too much about the Dutch music scene, but if this is anything to go by, there may be a few more hidden gems that are worth checking out. I Am Oak’s fourth album is out on the 3rd of Feb (next Monday). The lead single from the album is called Honeycomb, and it slowly builds from delicate beginnings to something quite lovely! Enjoy…
‘Ols Songd’ is the fourth studio album by Utrecht folk band, I Am Oak. The album is released in the UK via Heist Or Hit Records on Monday 3rd February, led by the standout single, ‘Honeycomb’.
Since the release of debut album ‘On Claws’ in 2010, I Am Oak has built an impressive track record. The band won a 3VOOR12 Award for Best Album of 2011, and last year’s stunning follow-up, ‘Nowhere or Tammensaari’, gave them the opportunity to tour in thirteen countries worldwide.
The Dutch folk/indie band, formed around songwriter Thijs Kuijken, create hauntingly beautiful music that takes the listener on a journey through Kuijken’s observational and nature influenced songwriting and mesmeric vocals.
