Update: This is looking like it’s not going to happen, sadly! The Guardian has a quote from Mark Frost (Co-creator) calling it a “another strange baseless rumor”. Sad.

Poor old Laura Palmer, God rest her soul. This rumour has been doing the rounds for a while now, and yes, I want to believe it’s true, despite the fact that it probably isn’t and it’ll never be as good as the original. From the Mail online today, full piece is here.

The series, which was abruptly cancelled in 1991, made mention of its possible return in an episode, when the spirit of murdered beauty queen Laura Palmer whispered to FBI Agent Dale Cooper that she would see him again in 25 years.

Lynch is current attempting to make the whispered prophecy of a fictional dead teenager come to life, as the Blue Velvet director is setting up to shoot new footage for canceled series.
