Souvenir – Project Arts Centre – Dec 3rd – 14th – Preview

03-Souvenir

Souvenir was the sleeper hit of last year’s Fringe Festival. It was on in the final week of the festival in the New Theatre, and as word of mouth spread, it quickly became a sell out. I was lucky enough to see it on the last day and there was a buzz in the air. The play draws on Marcel Proust’s In Remembrance of Things Past, and merges it with the life of lead actor Bush Moukarzel to create a strange Charlie Kaufman-esque vision of life and memory. It was the best piece of new writing I saw at the festival, and this one man show lived long in my memory.

Dead Centre went on to produce Lippy in this year’s Fringe Festival, which won best production, and the buzz about this theatre company continues to grow. Now you have a chance to catch up on what you missed last year, or enjoy it one more time, with this production at the Project Arts Centre. There’s even talk of a new ending, so something to look forward to!
