Want to hear something good about Gravity being released today? It means you don’t have to watch the bloody trailer anymore when you go to the cinema! I must have seen it about 10 times, with poor Sandra spinning out into infinity. Well, if you want to see if they ever get back home (they might not, you never know) you now have the chance. It actually has a Metacritic score of 96%, which is one of the highest I’ve ever seen. The hive mind of critics is acting as one! I think I’ll have to see what the fuss is about.
There are a few other movies this week, even if you’re obliged by God and nature to go to the one above (unless you suffer from motion sickness in the cinema, then you get a pass). One of those other new releases is ‘Village at the end of the World‘ which is a documentary about 59 people and 100 sledge dogs living somewhere very, very cold!
The Broken Circle Breakdown is the story of a young couple falling in love and a shared love of American bluegrass music. They both looked nicely touched, so it could be a lot of fun. Metacritic gives it a 70% and it does look pretty sweet.
So, it really is a quiet week, Gravity scared off the rest of them! For Those in Peril is the last of the new kids in class. It tells the story of a young man in Scotland who is the lone survivor of a boating accident. The reviews are mostly positive, but not glowing.
