The_Events_Peacock Theatre

This could well be the strangest request we’ve heard. The Events is a play by David Greig which questions ‘just how far forgiveness will stretch in the wake of tragedy’. They have an unusual requirement for the play, the need an Irish Choir! The full list of requirements are below, but it sounds like you will be letting yourselves in for something weird and wonderful.

Actors Touring Company and director Ramin Gray invite Irish choirs to apply to take part in The Events by David Greig – one of the most eagerly anticipated shows in this year’s Dublin Theatre Festival programme and recent winner of a Scotsman Fringe First Award at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Actors Touring Company in partnership with Dublin Theatre Festival and the Abbey Theatre are looking for a different choir to perform live in the production each night the during its run from October 1 – 5 on the Peacock Stage.

Full details of the choir requirement is below.

  • The choir will need to have been together for a minimum of three months
  • The choir will need to have a vocal leader who will champion and lead on learning of material
