A busy week at the cinema, so let’s get straight down to it.

Ryan Gosling is just so dreamy, like, the way he takes his shirt off in every single movie. Ahem. Where was I? Yes, Ryan is back in ‘Only God Forgives‘ and again it’s another challenging, difficult movie for a man that is half teenage dreamboat and half serious actor. It’s from the director of his biggest success to date ‘Drive’, Nicolas Winding Refn.

Yes, this is a new release from studio Ghibli, and a damn good one by the sound of things. From Up and Poppy Hill is getting a lot of rave reviews, so that’s enough for me, as when they get it right, the results are often stunning; see Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke if you’re not convinced!

The Conjuring stars Patrick Wilson and Lili Taylor and is directed by James Wan, who previously made Saw and Insidious. It’s a better than average Horror about a spooky house (well, not really the house, but you get the idea).

Red 2 is the story of retired CIA and MI5 agents returning for one last stand, our review is here. It’s worth seeing for Helen Mirren and John Malkovich alone! Ok, that’s probably the only reason to see it, but you know what I mean.
